I started work at Sonshine Academy because I cheered with some of the staff currently working there. I stayed at Sonshine for three years because of the knowledge they had to teach me, not only in a sport I already know a fair amount about but in other sports and coaching styles. I was … I am... sad I had to leave because once you walk threw the doors at Sonshine you are treated like family for the rest of your life.

I have been involved with Sonshine for as long as I can remember! I can remember going to preschool gymnastics class with Ms. Anita in the old Sonshine building downtown! I have grown up through the many programs that Sonshine has to offer and I truly believe that that they have helped shape me into the person that I am today! I cheered in the All Star program for almost eleven years, and I absolutely could not imagine leaving. So, as I was too old to be a cheerleader, I naturally became a coach. I could not imagine my life without the wonderful coaches and staff at Sonshine that have become my second family over the years.

My daughter has learned more than dance and cheerleading at Sonshine Academy. She has learned life lessons that can’t always be taught at home, such as how to win with pride and humility, and how to lose with grace. She has learned what it means to be part of a team and to serve the needs of others, not just herself. Sonshine Academy has truly helped develop my child’s ability to shine.

I loved getting to work with my family everyday and the kids! The kids could always make me laugh.

I wanted to work at Sonshine Academy because I loved the world of gymnastics, and the great community of the staff there. I loved being around a great team and helping motivate, have fun and coach fantastic students!
