Summer on Broadway

Broadway Bound

Takin’ It to the Streets

Sonshine Academy of Dance summer workshop is scheduled for August 6-7, 2010. The professional master teachers will ensure students receive the highest quality training. Classes are offered in Broadway style Tap, Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop, Voice, Ballroom, and the Art of Audition for dancers of all levels from age 7 to adult. Master Teachers:
Noah Racey: Noah is a New York based performer, choreographer, and director. He made his debut on Broadway in the revival of FOLLIES and has since appeared in the original casts of THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (associate choreographer), and NEVER GONNA DANCE (starring opposite Nancy Lemenager and Karen Ziemba). Most recently, Mr. Racey appeared in CURTAINS, starring David Hyde Pierce and Debra Monk. Other New York credits include appearances at the Apollo Theater, City Center Encore, 3 performances at Carnegie Hall, and a 10 year association with the critically acclaimed BROADWAY BY THE YEAR series at Town Hall. Noah's television and film credits include "The 56th Annual Tony Awards" and the short film, "On Top: Inside the Success of Top Hat".

As a choreographer, Noah has worked with Tommy Tune, Jerry Mitchell, David Parsons, and Rob Ashford. He choreographed the national tour of WHITE CHRISTMAS and associate directed SHENANDOAH, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, and HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2, all directed by Jeff Calhoun. Most recently, Noah choreographed ANNIE GET YOUR GUN at Goodspeed Operahouse and the world premier of TURN OF THE CENTURY at Chicago's Goodman Theater, directed by Tommy Tune, starring Jeff Daniels and Rachel York.

Noah is the founder and Artistic Director of the New York Tap Ensemble with up coming performances in Jerusalem, Kuwait, and Italy. An accomplished singer, dancer, actor, drummer, teacher, and choreographer, Noah is a product of and strong proponent for arts funding in public schools.

Eric Williams: Eric has studied all forms of dance and attended many workshops across the country. He has taken classes at some of the most prestigious schools in the nation such as The Edge Performing Arts Centre. He trained under Michael Tidwell and was a principle dancer in the Tidwell Project. Eric's performance credits include work with several major companies such as LA Culture Shock, a Nike sponsored hip-hop dance team in Los Angeles, California and Nathan Burton's Comedy Magic Show in Osaka, Japan. His teaching credits include: The Showbiz Convention as amaster teacher for "The Class", instructor and dance coach for the Hot Springs School District, hip-hop instructor for NLR School of Dance, and teacher for Miss Sharon's in Jacksonville, AR. He also choreographs award winning pieces for dance studios all over the country. Currently, Eric is touring with Showbiz National Talent in backstage production. He also enjoys giving back by teaching at the local Boys and Girls Club.

Full Workshop (Friday and Saturday)
On Time Registration: Received on or before June 30, 2010--$100.00
Late Registration: Received after July 31, 2010--$120.00
Note: $15 discount available to any dancer taking at least 3 hours of summer dance classes at Sonshine Academy.
